In 2013 the production prices of industrial products fell by 1,1% (in 2012 there was a 3,6% increase). Istat communicated it. In December 2013, the producer price index of industrial products decreased by 0,1% compared to the previous month and by 1,8% compared to December 2012.

The prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 0,1% compared to November and by 2,1% on a trend basis. Net of the energy sector, there was an increase of 0,2% on the previous month and a decrease of 0,1% in trend terms.

The prices of goods sold on the foreign market show decreases of 0,1% on the previous month (-0,2% for the euro area and -0,1% for the non-euro area). In trend terms, a decrease of 0,5% was recorded (-0,8% for the euro area and -0,3% for the non-euro area).

With regard to sectoral contributions to the trend dynamics of the general index, for the internal market the most significant one derives from the energy sector (-2,2 percentage points). On the foreign market, the largest contributions to the decrease come from intermediate goods for the euro area (-0,6 percentage points) and from energy for the non-euro area (-0,3 percentage points).
