Istat: industrial production pieces +0,3% in February

The producer price index of industrial products in February made a record a 0,1% increase over the previous month and 0,3% year over year. This was revealed by Istat, which specifies that prices on the domestic market have grown by 0,2% on a month and by 0,5% on a year.

The prices of goods sold on the foreign market, on the other hand, show a contraction of 0,1% both on a monthly and on an annual basis. In both cases, we note the sharp drop in prices for the Eurozone, while those for non-EU countries remained stable compared to January and grew by 0,2% compared to February 2012.

The greatest contribution to the trend growth of the price index of goods sold on the domestic market comes from non-durable consumer goods (0,5 percentage points). On the foreign market, the most significant contributions derive from intermediate goods (0,4 and 0,1 percentage points respectively for the euro area and for the non-euro area).
