Istat: industry orders +6,2% year on year

According to data released by Istat, in April total industrial orders increased by 3,8% compared to March and by 6,2% on an annual basis - Turnover down by 0,2% on an annual basis month and up by 2,2% compared to April 2013.

Orders to the growing industry. This was communicated by Istat, according to which total orders in April marked an increase of 3,8% compared to the month of March, a synthesis of a 9,2% increase in foreign orders and a decrease of 0,4% of the internal ones. On an annual basis, the raw index of orders instead shows a growth of 6,2%. 

The strongest increase is that recorded in the manufacture of electrical equipment and non-electrical household appliances (+48,0%), while the greatest decline is observed in the manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products (-3,9% ).

Again according to the Statistical Institute, the turnover of industry recorded a drop of 0,2% compared to March, due to the 0,5% decline on the domestic market, not offset by the 0,6% growth on the foreign one. On an annual basis, the total turnover of the industry, in the month of April, recorded a growth of 2,2%, thanks to the increase of 1,6% on the domestic market and of 3,4% on the foreign one. 

On average over the last three months, the overall index decreased by 0,6% compared to the previous three months (-0,9% for national turnover and +0,1% for foreign turnover).
