In August, the composite index of the business confidence climate recorded an increase, going from 105,6 to 107. This was announced by Istat, noting that "the index is placed on the average values recorded in the 2007”.
This is another sign of recovery for the Italian economy, which goes alongside the encouraging data on GDP. Going into detail, it can be seen that the different economic sectors show heterogeneous signals. In fact, while the climate of confidence is increasing in the manufacturing and services sectors, the index is decreasing in construction and in the retail trade.
The data on consumer confidence are also positive. The economic climate and the personal climate increase considerably, while expectations regarding the country's economic situation are progressively improving. Unemployment expectations are falling again.
