Intesa Sanpaolo focuses on crowdfunding for the territories

Intesa Sanpaolo launches Formula. The new project accessible from the For Funding fundraising platform is aimed at environmental sustainability, social inclusion and access to the labor market for people in difficulty, with the ambition of promoting over 2021 initiatives throughout Italy in 30. The first collections already active concern Turin, Bergamo, Milan, Pistoia, Pescara, Naples and the Marches. In 2020 donations reached a record of 10 million euros, placing For Funding in first place among the "donation and reward" platforms in our country.

In detail, the banking group led by Carlo Messina will allocate 1 euro to the project for many of the products purchased by customers online, with the aim of increasing fundraising and, at the same time, the digital literacy of customers. The various companies of the group will in turn become contributors.

The first to join was Intesa Sanpaolo Life, of the Insurance Division based in Dublin, specialized in investment products characterized by an insurance core. Crowdfunding is then open to all bank customers, who can donate online and via ATMs, as well as to non-customer contributors.

The selection of active local projects in the Formula section of For Funding sees the involvement of the bank's regional management, assisted by the Cesvi Foundation, a high-profile independent humanitarian organisation. Cesvi supports Intesa Sanpaolo in identifying reliable partner structures and in monitoring and documenting the implementation of each project.

On the portal 7 initiatives aimed at the redevelopment of green areas are already operational, the creation of structures for the reception of minors and for the support of the elderly, the promotion of paths for professional integration. In Turin, in the Piazza dei Mestieri, a classroom with computer equipment will be created for free training in "coding and social media". In Bergamo, cycle workshops, an ironing room, a laundry, a cooking center and vegetable gardens will be built at the solidarity village of the Fa Consortium. In Milan, we will take care of the renovation, furnishing and supply of new spaces for the reception centers for minors managed by the social cooperative Open Space Services.

While in Gavinana, in the province of Pistoia, a new building will be built surrounded by greenery to be used as an educational laboratory for the activities that the Turati Foundation offers to the elderly, the disabled and children. In Fermo, Macerata and Civitanova Marche, the Il Faro association will be able to count on new centers for activities aimed at unemployed young people and lonely elderly people. In Pescara, on the other hand, the internal and external spaces of the Orizzonti social cooperative will be reborn, to offer opportunities for meeting children, disadvantaged adolescents and the elderly in conditions of isolation. In Naples, in the San Pietro a Patierno district, a library, an auditorium and a football pitch will facilitate the work of the Il Grillo parlante children's center in favor of the most vulnerable young people.

"With this initiative, Intesa Sanpaolo confirms its vocation as a bank sensitive to the social needs of the various realities in which it operates - declared Stefano Barrese, head of the Banca dei Territori Division of Intesa Sanpaolo -. The novelty we want to underline is the involvement of customers and non-customers of the individual territories who recognize our group as a leader in the area of social inclusion, sustainability and environmental protection initiatives, also at a local level. In fact, our daily behavior and way of acting look with ever more determination at these requests, with particular attention to the specificities expressed by the individual territories”.
