The European Central Bank has given the green light to the project for the merger by incorporation of Cassa di Risparmio del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Banco di Napoli and Cassa di Risparmio del Veneto into Intesa Sanpaolo.

Intesa Sanpaolo incorporates Cassa di Risparmio del Friuli Venezia Giulia, Banco di Napoli and Cassa di Risparmio del Veneto. The "merger by incorporation" operations, based on what was communicated by the bank led by Carlo Messina, received the go-ahead from the European Central Bank. Intesa Sanpaolo, for its part, filed the projects with the Turin business register. The mergers envisaged by the industrial plan of the institute with a view to simplifying the organization of the group.

"The mergers - continues the note - will be approved by the board of directors of Intesa Sanpaolo, without prejudice to the possibility for the bank's shareholders" who represent at least 5% of the share capital, "to request - by 12 May 2018 - that such decisions are adopted by the extraordinary assembly”.

Today, on the Milan Stock Exchange, the Intesa Sanpaolo share drops 0,24% against a 0,6% increase in the FtseMib to 24.200 basis points. Despite today's slight decline, the monthly performance of the bank's shares remains broadly positive, registering an increase of 6,4%.
