Are Intesa Sanpaolo and Fondamenta Sgr betting on MilkyWay?

Passion for sport as a business idea with a high growth rate. It is with this objective that the two Venture Capital funds TT Venture – a fund managed by Fondamenta SGR – and Atlante Seed – a fund managed by IMI Fondi Chiusi SGR, a company of the Intesa Sanpaolo group – have invested in MilkyWay, a start-up from Modena deals with the design, production and online sale of equipment for bike-trial and extreme sports.

The investment operation is equal to an initial 720 thousand euros, which will be used by MilkyWay to expand its range of products on the extreme sports market (such as kitesurfing, downhill, parkour, etc.) and to develop the online community (www.milkywaytribe. com).

“We chose to invest in the extreme sports market both for the high growth rate and for the energy, passion and set of skills of the MilkyWay team”, underlines Mauro Odorico of TT Venture. “MilkyWay has built an innovative, unique and high-potential business model, entering a production district that has always been known for its ability to innovate and produce at the highest levels”.

"One of the distinctive elements of MilyWay is represented by the community of practitioners, who participate with ideas and suggestions useful for better targeting e-commerce and own-brand production", comments Andrea Ballestri of Atlante Seed. “We believe that this particular formula makes MilkyWay a point of reference for all bike-trial and extreme sports enthusiasts.

The heterogeneity of the partners who in various capacities support the initiative (investment funds, business angels and local operators) provides the company with an important pool of skills and networks which will undoubtedly favor its growth”.
