On 30 April, the CEO Carlo Messina explained that the office of president emeritus of Intesa Sanpaolo "is linked to the Statute", which "is clear and limited its duration to three years", therefore Giovanni Bazoli will not be able to maintain the office which he has held in the last three years, "however ways will be found that will allow for a content more or less equivalent to that which concerned the definition of president emeritus".
