Inter, Icardi beats Toro and saves De Boer

With two goals, the Nerazzurri captain knocked out a Torino unrecognizable (2-1) and saved De Boer's bench, who he thanks: "Mauro is a fantastic player" – Inter breathe a sigh of relief but are always in an emergency – Di Belotti the provisional draw of Mihajlovic's team.

Icardi saves De Boer. This can only be the Nerazzurri's Wednesday title, characterized by a victory over Turin which is fundamental both for the table and for the Dutch coach. It's useless to hide: if the 3 points hadn't arrived, we'd now be talking about his replacement, but he'll still be on the bench against Sampdoria.

Difficult to see beyond next Sunday, but in the meantime a shock was needed and Inter found it thanks to their striker-captain, always decisive in the most delicate moments. There is his signature at the bottom of last night's 2-1 and therefore on De Boer's stay, smiling again after more than a month of hardship.

“Mauro is a fantastic player, he has always set an example on the pitch – the Dutch praise his captain. – I'm happy for the win but also for the performance, I'm proud of what we pulled off and I'd like to see the boys again like this".

A charge also increased by the company's position, finally expressed after days of very heavy silence. “De Boer has our total trust – Thohir's words. – Suning and I are very focused on our goals, we cannot deny that there have been some technical problems but we have to stick together. Football, as we know, is linked to results but we can recover”.

In short, a victory that lengthens the bench and allows the coach to prepare more calmly for next Sunday's away match in Genoa. Against Turin we certainly didn't see the sparkling game promised in August, but surely there were some steps forward from the point of view of organization and grit, all that was missing in Bergamo against Atalanta.

Mihajlovic's grenades lent a hand by offering a performance far below expectations, however the fact remains that Inter strongly wanted this victory and in the end it was rewarded. It was Icardi who broke the deadlock thanks to an unfortunate outing by Hart (35'), but then, at the start of the second half, a sensational mistake by the Ansaldi-Murillo duo had allowed Belotti to equalize (63').

From then on many Nerazzurri goalscorings, all of them however stopping one step away from the net. Until Icardi's decisive play, a right footed shot under the cross that brought a smile back to De Boer and all of San Siro. It's still too early to talk about the emergency over, there's no doubt about that: the first step to get out of the crisis, however, has been taken and this, given the premises, is already the best that could be achieved.
