In the annual comparison, orders also grew (+2,7%) – The most significant trend increase in terms of revenues was recorded in the manufacture of means of transport (+9,8%).

Industry, Istat: turnover +1,3% in March, orders -0,5%

Il turnover of Italian industry grew up by1,3% between February and March, improving both on the domestic market (+1,0%) and on the foreign market (+1,9%). This was announced this morning by Istat, specifying that, on average over the last three months, the overall index fell by 0,2% compared to the previous quarter (-0,2% for internal turnover and -0,1 % for the foreign one).

"Adjusted for calendar effects - writes the Institute of Statistics -, total turnover grows in trend terms by 0,9%, the synthesis of a 0,9% drop on the domestic market and an increase of 4,5% on the foreign one. The seasonally adjusted turnover indices show cyclical increases for energy (+5,2%), capital goods (+2,1%), intermediate goods (+0,7%) and consumer goods ( +0,5%)”.

The most significant trend increase is recorded in the manufacture of means of transport (+9,8%), while the greatest decrease concerns the manufacture of coke and refined petroleum products (-14,8%).

On the front of orders, on the other hand, there was a 0,3% cyclical decline, a synthesis of a 0,5% decrease in foreign orders and a stability of domestic ones. In comparison with the month of March 2014, the raw index of orders marks an increase of 2,7%. 

The most significant increase is recorded in the manufacture of computers, electronic and optical products, electromedical devices (+10,6%), while the greatest decrease is observed in the textile, clothing, leather and accessories industries (-5,9%) .
