Indonesia, Unioncamere: "A hub for Asian countries"

Exploit the forerunner work carried out by the Italian Government's mission in Indonesia to promote the development of exchanges and a framework of stable relations with companies in this country, above all for the benefit of small Italian companies, in the agro-industry, applied mechanics, agro-food, fashion and housing, as well as tourist accommodation. This is the proposal launched by the vice president of Unioncamere and president of the Rome Chamber of Commerce, Giancarlo Cremonesi, on behalf of the chamber system, during the government mission.

“An upcoming incoming mission, organized by the system of the Italian Chambers of Commerce and by Jakarta, of Indonesian operators and buyers in Italy, will be the concrete objective to be achieved in the next 12 months, to consolidate the relationship system that the initiative of the Government is building these days – added Cremonesi -. We need to seize the great opportunities that this country offers for our businesses: a reality with over 260 million consumers, growth rates well above the European averages (6,4% per year), a medium-high income bracket (estimated in more than 20% of the population). All characteristics that place Indonesia among the countries on which to focus more as a 'hub' for a large part of the Asian economic area”.

57 companies participate in the mission (in addition to 10 trade associations and 8 banks). Of these companies, 30 have scheduled b2b meetings with 90 Indonesian counterparts - for a total of 330 meetings - in the energy, automotive (and durable goods in general) sectors.
