In Italy, almost aseaside enterprise on six is on Romagna Riviera. To be precise, 1.064 out of a total of 6.823. The total number of companies active in this sector has grown by 26% compared to 10 years ago. The data is contained in a survey of Unioncamere-InfoCamere made on the basis of data from the Chambers of Commerce Business Register.
The predominance of the Romagna localities clearly emerges from the ranking of the Italian municipalities with the highest number of entrepreneurial realities in the sector. In the first five places there are, in fact, four Romagna municipalities: Ravenna (194) Cervia (164) Rimini (155) and Riccione (120). If you add the 112 companies of Cesenatico (in seventh position), the five municipalities of Romagna total 745 entrepreneurial realities, 70% of all the infrastructures of the Romagna Riviera and 11% of the national total.
Immediately behind, the bathing industry sees on the podium two historic destinations for lovers of the Italian sea: the Toscana, with 892 businesses distributed along 397 km of coastline (2,2 businesses per km) and the Liguria, with 801 companies overseeing 330 km of coastline (2,4 per km). Tuscany, with Camaiore (92 companies along just 3 km of coast) also holds the record for the maximum density of seaside activities (31 companies per km), compared to a national average (measured on the 770 Municipalities bordering our seas) which slightly exceeds the one-to-one ratio between businesses and kilometers of coastline (1,1 to be precise).
Since 2009, the rush to manage entertainment activities on the coasts of the boot (including those of lakes and rivers) has led to an overall increase in businesses of 26,3%, equal to 1.421 more units. If it is true that the presence of companies in this sector is concentrated more in the regions of the Centre-North, the protagonists of growth in the last decade are however the regions of the South, decidedly launched to recover their positions.
In the period considered, the most significant growth in absolute terms (+278 companies) concerned the Calabria, which doubled the budget of 2009. Follow the Campania (+190 activities), the Puglia (+184) and the Sicilia (+183). In relative terms, the most consistent acceleration of the decade is that of Sardinia (+144,4%). Immediately after - net of internal regions, where the numbers of activities are limited to lake and river ones - the most dynamic regions are Sicily (+71,8%), Puglia (+63,2%) and Campania (+42,1%).
