Businesses: 368 hires scheduled for April, here are the most requested professionals

In April Italian companies expect overall 368 thousand personnel income, but the impact of the crisis in Ukraine on the macroeconomic scenario and the significant increase in energy and raw material costs are starting to have an impact above all on manufacturing companies. This is what emerges from the bulletin of the Excelsior information system, produced by Unioncamere and Anpal, which elaborates the employment forecasts for April.

Sectors

The analysis shows a reduction of 8,5% of the expected revenues from sector manufacturing compared to March (-6 thousand) and by -5,9% if compared with a year ago (-4 thousand). Construction also recorded a slowdown (-9,4% compared to March and -19,5% compared to 12 months ago).

I services as a whole, they are instead up by 7,5% on the month (+19 thousand) and by 39,1% on the year (74 thousand), thanks above all to the recovery of the tourism sector, favored by the easing of the restrictions for the end of the state emergency and the forthcoming Easter holidays (+14 per month; +56 per year).

The question in the services to people (respectively +5 thousand and +12 thousand) and, to a lesser extent, in business (+2 thousand in both cases), although the rapid growth of inflation has a negative impact on sector expectations for the coming months.

Considering the total of economic sectors, the recruitment forecasts in April would record a growth of 2,4% compared to last March (+9 thousand entries) and of 20,3% if compared with April 2021 (+62 thousand).

The figures sought in the industry

Despite the uncertainties and fears about the trend of economic growth, the industry is looking for around 103 workers for the month of April to be included in the company. At the sectoral level, construction companies expect 34 entries, followed by the mechatronics industries (18 units), metallurgy and metal products (14 units) and the food industries (9).

Those required in the services

On the other hand, there are 265 job opportunities offered by service companies, of which 78 in the tourism sector, 45 in personal services and 46 in commerce. However, negative signs were recorded in the ICT (-11,8% compared to April 2021) and advanced business services (-6,6%) sectors.

The types of contracts offered

Overall, the hiring flow is characterized by a prevalence of fixed-term contracts with 199 units, equal to 54,1%. Followed by open-ended contracts (72 thousand), supply contracts (41 thousand), non-employee contracts (23 thousand), apprenticeship contracts (21 thousand), other forms of employment contracts (8 thousand) and collaboration contracts (4 thousand) .

The hardest to find professionals

Overall, the share of hires for which companies declare difficulty in finding them stands at 40,4% (8,3 percentage points more than in April 2021), which rises to 55,8% for skilled workers, to 47,8% % for plant operators and fixed and mobile machinery workers, 47,4% for technical professions and 47,2% for managers and intellectual and scientific professions.

As the Borsino delle professioni shows, the figures for whom the difficulty of finding exceeds the 60% threshold are in order: craftsmen and skilled workers involved in finishing constructions (65,6%), smelters, welders, tinsmiths, coppersmiths, metal carpentry fitters (64,6%), blacksmiths, tool makers (63,4%), craft mechanics, fitters, repairers and maintenance technicians of stationary and mobile machines (61,1%).

Territorial differences

Lastly, at a territorial level, there is a pronounced growth compared to a year ago in the flow of revenue expected in April in the regions of the South (+25 thousand), followed by the regions of the North-East (+20 thousand). The forecasts of the central (+11) and north-west (+6) regions are more contained.
