The Yes TAV people fill Turin: 40 in the square

There are about 40 thousand, according to an estimate by the organizers, the participants in the demonstration Yes Tav of Turin. Piazza Castello is crowded with people, despite the rainy day in Turin, and so are the surrounding streets. Among the participants also 20 mayors of the Susa Valley.

“Turin takes to the streets to say yes, starting with the one for the Tav, who know how to interpret the needs of the people and who can rewrite the future of a city and a region”, explain the organizers. An open truck is the stage for the event, where the seven women of the Committee Yes, Turin goes on, Mino Giachino, promoter of Sì Tav-Sì Lavoro, Gianmarco Moschella, student of Economics, and Guglielmo Nappi, student of Automotive Engineering.

"We respect the commitments undertaken with M5S - underline the Lega MPs elected in the province of Turin - but we strongly reiterate that the work must be carried out. Our participation in the event is above all a sign of respect and attention towards the Piedmontese productive and entrepreneurial world which today has decided to take to the streets and which is evidently showing discomfort". In Piazza Castello, for the League, the parliamentarians Elena Maccanti, Gualtiero Caffarrato, Marzia Casolati and Alessandro Benvenuto are present. “We are parliamentarians elected in the province of Turin, we represent a government political force that wants to dialogue. We are in favor of major works and we consider the Turin-Lyon line to be fundamental and strategic for Piedmont and for the whole country”, add the exponents of the Carroccio.

"Today, in Piazza Castello, net of the different political sensitivities - writes the mayor Appendino - criticisms have been raised, which I welcome, but there were also many positive energies. Some points were proposed for the future of the City which are largely acceptable, also because they reflect what we as an Administration have done up to now and still intend to do in the two and a half year mandate that we have before us. I'm ready to discuss it as early as next week."
