The Executive will oppose the no-confidence motion that M5S will present to the Senate – Epifani announces a negative vote, but many in the Democratic Party are asking for a step back by the Minister of Justice – For the PDL, the Minister of Justice "should not resign, but a parallel must be drawn with Berlusconi's phone call for Ruby” – Tomorrow Chancellors in the Chambers.

The government blocks Cancellieri, but the Democratic Party is divided

Il Letta government squares around Annamaria Cancellieri and will oppose the motion of no confidence that the 5 Star Movement will present today in the Senate.

“I would like to avoid traumatic breaks if possible – said the First –. The government team works, it is united. The controversies are all external. It's not the topic of the moment." Also because the Cancellieri case could be the first piece of a domino effect towards the Government crisis, since in the next few weeks the Executive has to face two other dossiers at risk: the approval of the Stability law in Parliament and the vote in Senate on the decadence of Silvio Berlusconi.

The Pd secretary also follows the same line as Letta, Guglielmo Epifani: "The Democratic Party will not challenge Cancellieri". In the Democratic Party, however, there are tensions: after the embarrassing phone call in which the Minister of Justice makes himself available to the Ligresti family has spread, many are asking for his resignation (the Renzians like Pippo Civati) and some are even talking about a reshuffle.

The guarantor position of the PDL, but with a significant clarification: the Minister of Justice "must not resign, however double standards are unacceptable, a parallel must be drawn with Berlusconi's phone call for Ruby".

Meanwhile, it is expected for tomorrow urgent information to the Chambers in which Chancellors he will have to account for his position and clear himself of the accusation of having abused his office. “I'm not resigning even in my dreams – said the minister in an interview with La Repubblica -. Giulia Ligresti could die, that phone call was only human solidarity. I have intervened in a hundred cases in the last three months”.

As for the parallelism suggested by the PDL with Silvio Berlusconi's phone call for Ruby, “there's a big difference, I am directly responsible for the life of prisoners, I moved because of the risk of suicide. Berlusconi's was something else”.
