Schumann's thriller is staged in Albano

Back to Albano, at the gates of Rome, in the context of the now thirty years Liszt Festival, the theatrical-musical piece My Sweetest Clara – Robert Schumann's Last Night, show of great emotion that the Liszt Festival proposes after its success, on the occasion of bicentenary of the birth of Clara Wieck Schumann. On stage, set up in the council chamber of Albano Laziale, Chiara Di Stefano, Giordano Bonini and Giacomo Zito, accompanied by the music of Robert Schumann edited by Maurizio D'Alessandro, with I Solisti del Festival Liszt Albano.

The death of Schumann, one of the greatest composers of Romanticism, remains shrouded in mystery. Clara Wieck, wife and famous pianist, never visits him after being admitted to a psychiatric clinic in Bonn and prevents him from seeing her children. Why did Clara abandon him in an asylum until her death? The same questions that drive Dr. Richarz, the head of the Endenich psychiatric clinic, to a passionate investigation in search of the truth. My sweetest Clara - Robert Schumann's Last Night thus becomes a "theater thriller", where perpetrators and victims exchange roles, highlighting the multitude of identities that inhabit each human being.

Clara Wieck is played by Chiara Di Stefano; Giordano Bonini is Dr. Franz Richarz; Giacomo Zito, who is also its author and director, plays the role of Robert Schumann now close to passing away. The appointment is for Sunday 15 December, at 18pm, in the council chamber of the Municipality of Albano (Palazzo Savelli). It is repeated in February, in Ariccia, at the Bernini theatre.

For information and reservations: 06 9364605. The ticket office opens in Palazzo Savelli two hours before the show.
