The Clessidra fund and Mediaset have made a joint offer to acquire control of Endemol. The confirmation comes directly from the vice president of Mediaset Pier Silvio Berlusconi, underlining that if the production house were to go to the auction Mediaset would not participate.
“We made our offer with Clessidra. I am technically satisfied and I think it's an excellent offer for creditors and for the future of the company,” said Berlusconi, adding that Alfa Romeo will certainly not participate
at auctions if there were any.
Mediaset currently owns one third of Endemol, which is in the throes of a debt restructuring plan. The go-ahead of two-thirds of the creditors is necessary for any extraordinary transaction that leads to a change of control.
