ICE in Beijing for fine Italian clothing and textiles

The ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies took part this week in the 21st edition of the fair "CHIC – China International Clothing & Accessories Fair” of Beijing. The event, promoted by the China National Garment Association and Sub-Council of Textile Industry, takes place annually and is open to manufacturers of clothing, footwear and fashion accessories. In this context, ICE started the promotion of Italian clothing in China in 2002, with a small Punto Italia inside the newly created “CHIC”, continuing a support businesses through the organization of the collective with the aim of overseeing an emerging market with excellent growth potential, but for several years with limited commercial return. Over the years theICE intended to expand and strengthen the intervention with image actions to encourage market penetration by medium-high-end producers, at a time when the economic context no longer limits opportunities to just the big brands. In 2012, the import of fabrics in China reached 8.8 billion dollars and our country took over about 5.1% of the market with sales of 448 million (-1,4% compared to 2011).

Almost simultaneously, again in Beijing, at the China International Exhibition Center, "Unique Milan in China”, a major trade fair event dedicated to the textile sector “Intertextile-Beijing 2013". The Fair which takes place every six months in the two editions of Beijing (March) and Shanghai (October) has been organized since 1995 by the "Sub-Council of Textile Industry CCPIT -China Council of Promotion of International Trade", Messe Frankfurt HK and China Textile Information Center and has acquired increasing importance over the years to become the most important textile fair in the world.

Also this event sees the contribution of ICE which has created a series of communication actions, promoting the initiative through the care of some services at the fair, such as assistance, reception and interpreting for the participating Italian companies, the organization of a delegation to the fair of journalists from other regions of China and a press conference where Chinese and foreign operators and journalists will be invited to the headquarters of the Italian Embassy. This constitutes a valid support for the participation of companies in the fair, strengthening in particular the visibility and availability of Made in Italy on the local market and representing a valid support for the export activity in a market which, from its main competitor, is increasingly turning into a basin with enormous potential for the export of fine Italian textiles.
