The three outbreaks of Ukraine, Egypt and Libya

While the European authorities are focusing on solving the Greek case, the eyes of the markets and chancelleries are also focusing on other international outbreaks.

UKRAINE

An artillery shell hit a hospital in Donetsk, killing an as yet unspecified number of people (4 according to some sources, 15 according to others), while the Ukrainian army says it has recorded two dead and 24 wounded in the fight in the last 18 hours against pro-Russian separatists only. Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko said he has "the slightest doubt" that the US will send weapons to Kiev.

LIBYA

A French technician may have been kidnapped in Libya, in Mabrouk, in the oil field managed by the French company Total together with the Libyan state company. The Libyan media released the news citing military and security sources, but Total's spokesman denied the kidnapping, specifying that all personnel had long since been evacuated. The hypothesis remains that the jihadists of ansar al sharia, an allied formation of Isis, have kidnapped a guard of the site who depends on the army and therefore is not linked to the French oil company.

EGYPT

Two hundred and thirty militants of the anti-Mubarak front who had contributed to the overthrow of power in Egypt in 2011 were sentenced this morning to life imprisonment by the court in Cairo. The court also sentenced 39 minors, who will have to serve 10 years in prison for their involvement in the clashes between protesters and the police in 2011. Meanwhile, two bombs exploded in the Egyptian capital today (one in the city, one near the airport), but there are no injuries.
