The new horizons of advertising

The advertising market has been hit hard by the crisis, and traditional outlets have been hit even harder by the migration of advertising to the Web. But the global advertising market, which is worth nearly $500 billion will be pulled by China and India in 2012, according to the world's third largest agency, Publicis Groupe (which controls Leo Burnett and Saatchi & Saatchi). The report says that over the next three years, a third of the advertising market growth will be provided by three BRICs: China, India and Brazil. India is especially promising.

Today it is the 16th largest advertising market in the world, but is expected to enter the top ten in the next five years, and Publicis expects to triple its revenue in the subcontinent over the next three years. In China, which is already among the top five as an advertising market, Publicis has entered with several acquisitions, including Gomye, which deals with digital advertising.
