Are the boyfriends together? The Government says Yes: "Ok to visits"

The Government silences the controversy and gives an expanded definition of the term joint: from 4 May engaged couples will be able to meet after almost two months of lockdown

Are the boyfriends together? The Government says Yes: "Ok to visits"

All is well that ends well. Boyfriends, companions and stable affections will be able to meet again from May 4th. The Government specified this, silencing the controversies which on 27 April affected the use of the term "relatives" mentioned in the decree of 26 April containing the new travel rules and reopening calendar.

Let's summarize: the dpcm predicts that starting next Monday you can move within your own municipality and region to meet the "relatives" from which we were forced to separate ourselves due to the llockdown imposed to contain the infections from Covid-19. In fact, there are very many citizens who have not seen their parents, siblings and boyfriends since mid-March, having spent the quarantine period each in their own home or home, without the possibility of moving.

The new decree loosens the restrictions on this matter, but foresees dTwo strict conditions to be respected: it will be necessary to keep a safe distance of at least one meter even at home and it will be necessary to use a mask. For the moment, therefore, no hugs, but at least a first, feeble step towards a return to normality and affection.

Since the announcement of the decree, however, a new catchphrase has been born, which has reached the home pages of all national newspapers from social networks. There was only one question: what does joint mean? At first, it seemed in fact that the decree referred to a narrow definition of the term, allowing meetings only between first and second degree relatives and excluding engaged couples, companions, cohabitants not linked by "contracts" (marriage, cohabitation of fact or civil union).

In the afternoon, however, the good news arrived: the Government has specified that the term joint means "relatives and in-laws, spouse", but also "cohabitants, stable boyfriends, stable affections". In other words, even if there are no ties before the law, from 4 May it will be possible to meet any person with whom you are bound by a stable emotional relationship. Therefore, the correct interpretation is the more “extended” one.

In the coming days, the Government anticipated, a circular will be issued containing further specifications and details on the movements and meetings allowed. Meanwhile, the lovers breathe a sigh of relief.
