Hillary Clinton is running for president of the United States as a Democrat. The former First Lady is the first woman in history to run for this office. The announcement came with a video posted on her website, hillaryclinton.com, and then with a tweet from the former senator and former secretary of state.
Clinton is thus running in the primaries for the second time, after the defeat suffered in 2008 by Barack Obama. For the moment it is the only official candidate in the Democratic primaries. If she wins it is the first time a female president of the United States.
“Hillary would be an excellent president – said Obama -. She has been an outstanding Secretary of State”.
