The free environmental education and scientific dissemination activities of the Hera Group, for schools of all types and levels, have been rethought and transformed to be enjoyed in digital mode.
In light of the complex moment for schools, due to the health emergency that the country is experiencing, the multi-utility chooses to remain alongside the teachers of the approximately 4.600 classes in the area who have joined their own educational projects, to carry on, even remotely and in line with the indications of the MIUR, the environmental education activities already planned this year for the classes.
A rich and flexible offer of "virtual classrooms", both in terms of content and in terms of tools, which provides different methods of use and platforms used by schools with the help of expert educators and science communicators: further confirmation of the willingness of the Hera Group to offer concrete support to schools in the areas served and respond to their needs.
Great Machine of the World: 12 routes redesigned in digital mode
For the project dedicated to kindergartens, primary and lower secondary schools, a total of 12 courses are already available, specially redesigned for digital use, which maintain the main characteristics: interactivity, differentiation based on the age of the students and naturally the focus on key themes of the project: environment, water and energy.
The courses are structured to be used in different ways and in line with the indications of the MIUR for distance learning. Teachers can choose between live video lessons, with the creation of real virtual classrooms, available on various platforms, or video lessons that can be used in deferred mode.
Among the proposed activities: in-depth videos, video tutorials for creative recycling, live magic with special effects, workshops and cards that children can use in connection with the teacher or autonomously at home to carry out experiments, quizzes on the integrated cycle of water, but there is also the use of Apps for interactive challenges on the theme of recycling, energy and water up to animated stories for the little ones.
But that's not all: the Great Machine of the World, in fact, is available in digital format also for all those who cannot connect online. In this case, teachers can request a kit of digital teaching materials on the chosen topic to be used to develop the module independently, on time and with the most convenient IT equipment for them. In any case, the educators of the cooperatives who assist Hera in the project guarantee technical support, if necessary, for the use of the new materials.
A well of science: Let's Re-Adapt with science meetings and online workshops
Even the scientific dissemination and environmental education project dedicated to high schools becomes resilient, just like the leitmotif chosen for this 2020 edition. Teachers and students are supported with a specially redesigned path for simple and comfortable use in digital and remote mode.
In the section of the site dedicated to the virtual classrooms of a science well (www.gruppohera.it/scuole/area_insegnanti/aule_virtuali/), teachers can find in-depth content and support materials and thus give continuity to the project.
Students and teachers can access freely and without registration to a selection of practical workshops and scientific meetings (science stories) on many of the topics and titles on the programme.
A rich offer that includes interactive conferences with speakers and experts, guided by scientific communicators, introductory videos, laboratories with experiments, presentations and in-depth information sheets to consult and download, useful for dealing with topics that are extremely important for student training in an engaging way , even at a distance.
