The presidents of Banca Carige, Giovanni Berneschi, of the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation, Alberto Del Carlo, and of the Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation, Arturo Lattanzi, have signed an agreement which provides for the entry of the Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation into the capital of the Banca del Monte di Lucca.
The agreements, according to a note, provide for the purchase by the Cassa di Risparmio di Lucca Foundation of a 20% stake in the capital of Banca Monte Lucca from the Banca del Monte di Lucca Foundation which will also remain a shareholder with 20 % of the Lucchese bank, still controlled with a 60% stake by Banca Carige.
"Banca Carige, together with the CR Lucca Foundations and Banca del Monte di Lucca has decided on this operation to strengthen the Lucca economy, supporting families and productive activities, in this moment of crisis", says the president of Banca Carige, Giovanni Berneschi .
