Generali Italia, “pink” scholarships for Ca' Foscari University

Generali Italia has set up five three-year scholarships for the best female high school students who, after obtaining their diploma, wish to enroll in the Computer Science degree course at the Ca' Foscari University of Venice. The scholarships are part of the Generali4Girls in STEM initiative and have been offered in collaboration with the Venetian university. Generali4Girls in STEM is the initiative of Generali Italia, aimed at promoting the enrollment of female students in the so-called STEM degree courses, i.e. those relating to science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In fact, these training courses have significantly lower percentages of female enrollments than males both nationally and internationally.

Generali Italia scholarships are awarded for the first year on the basis of a merit score, and for subsequent years they are linked to certain university career requirements. The degree course in Computer Science is provided by the Department of Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Statistics of the Ca' Foscari University of Venice, which has warmly welcomed the initiative. These scholarships are part of the University's broader commitment to promoting the orientation of young female students towards STEM disciplines, carried out in particular within the LEI – Center for women's leadership project (www.unive.it/lei). Scholarship applications must be submitted to the Department secretariat no later than 23 pm on 59 October 1.
