Just 24 hours ago he was named chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee. Today the Milan prosecutor's office asked for his indictment as part of the investigation into the Maugeri Foundation. The former Lombard governor Roberto Formigoni is Formigoni is accused of conspiracy and corruption.
In addition to Formigoni, there are eleven people for whom the Public Prosecutor's Office has requested indictment. Among these is the fixer Pierangelo Daccò (already sentenced to ten years in prison with abbreviated rite for the financial collapse of the San Raffaele) and the general director of Lombard health Carlo Lucchina.
At the basis of the prosecution's thesis is the following hypothesis: 8 million euro would have been spent on behalf of Formigoni and the other suspects (for travel, boats and various favours) and, in exchange, the Lombardy regional council would have voted resolutions facilitating both the Maugeri Foundation and the San Raffaele Foundation. In the coming days, the investigating judge will set the date for the preliminary hearing.
