Post-graduate training: JAC in charge of the ITS project in Lombardy

JAC – ITS Jobs Academy Foundation was nominated by MIUR at the head of the project #ITS4FUTURE dedicated to post-school guidance. ITS JobsAcademy Foundation represents one of the first Italian responses to highly specialized technological schools, which for decades have been training so-called super-technicians in Europe and since 2010 have been training highly specialized professional figures, thanks to partnerships with more than 2.500 companies. The ITS system, which foresees two years of studies with a strong practical activity, sees a post-attendance employment rate of 80% and for JAC students it reaches 97,2%.

Data confirmed by the results of the 2019 national monitoring on the ITS system (Higher Technical Institutes), presented on Tuesday 14 May at MIUR. The survey, carried out by the Indire Institute, focused on employment outcomes twelve months after graduation for male and female students who completed their courses at the ITS between 31 January and 2017 December 139 and concerned 73 ITS courses provided from 103 ITS Foundations out of 3.367 established, 2.601 members and XNUMX graduates.

80% of graduates (2.068) found a job within a year of graduating, in 90% of cases (1.860) in an area consistent with their completed studiesThe technological areas with the best employment performances are Sustainable Mobility (83,4%) and Information and Communication Technologies (82,5%). Among the areas of Made in Italy, the mechanical system (91,9%) and the fashion system (86,3%) obtain the best results. Less significant occupational outcomes are recorded for Energy efficiency (72,2%), New life technologies (72,7%) and, for Made in Italy areas, Home system (57%).

«Higher Technical Institutes represent a relatively young segment of our training system, which has already proven to be a point of excellence: the number of students enrolled in these realities increases year after year, testifying to the high quality of the training offer and the guarantee of an almost immediate entry into the world of work» commented the Minister of Education, University and Research, Marco Bussetti, in a greeting message addressed to the participants in the data presentation event, announcing that he has signed the decree that allocates 32 million euros that the Regions will be able to allocate to the ITS financing fund.

The goal of the project #ITS4FUTURE, of which JAC - ITS JobsAcademy Foundation played the role of control room, was to raise awareness among students, families and school staff on the subject of post-graduate guidance with a clear focus on the ITS system.

The project envisaged the participation of the Foundations in the two stages of the Student Fair in Milan and Monza, an event that every year sees the participation of over ten thousand high school students, the creation of seven career guidance salons in seven provinces of Lombardy which and finally a targeted communication campaign, with the creation of a new web portal and the opening of social channels on Facebook and Instagram.

The project was dedicated to the world of students leaving Technical Institutes and their families, who through this series of dedicated initiatives were able to deepen their knowledge of the possibilities that present themselves for their lives after graduation.

There are about 11.000 ITS students in Italy against one million in Germany. "The locomotive of Europe highlights the value of the dual school-work system for tertiary education and the new opportunities that ITS can seize" he commented Maurice Orena, general manager of the ITS JobsAcademy Foundation this morning in the Lombardy Region during the training seminar dedicated to the #ITS4FUTURE project.

Supported by Lombardy region, From 'Lombardy Territorial School Office and from ITS system, the path also sees the contribution of European Social Fund and the presence at the events of representatives of Confindustria need  Confartigianato: their presence bears witness to how the working universe pays close attention to guidance coming out of high school, and therefore to the importance of this kind of offer aimed at students, especially when – as in this case – they are organized directly from the students themselves.
The support of the Federation of Students – Upper Italy, a nationally rooted student organization and part of the Forum of Associations at the Ministry of Education, was a key partner for the ITS JobsAcademy Foundation for the excellent success of the project.
