National fund for innovation: the Mediocredito Italiano patent line is operational for SMEs

Loans up to 100% of the investment, with amounts up to 3 million euros: this is the new line of Mediocredito Italiano (Intesa-Sanpaolo Group) for the National Innovation Fund (Fni), the instrument created by the Ministry of Development Economic to facilitate the financing of innovative projects.

After the one reserved for designs and models, the line aimed at enhancing the economic use of patents under the National Innovation Fund (FNI), the tool created by the Ministry of Economic Development (MiSE) to facilitate financing of innovative projects based on the industrial exploitation of industrial property titles (patents, designs and models). With a view to this initiative, Mediocredito Italiano, the bank of the Intesa Sanpaolo Group specialized in supporting business innovation projects, completes the loan line created ad hoc for the enhancement of the intellectual property made up of Nova+ FNI Drawings, making available from today also the financial solution Nova+ FNI Brevetti. Mediocredito Italiano is implementing this important initiative together with Unicredit and Deutsche Bank, making its specialist skills available to the industrial system on a particularly important issue for the development and growth of the Italian economy.

The availability of funding provided by the National Innovation Fund through the three banks will be able to reach up to 100% of the investment of companies, with a minimum amount of 300 euros and a maximum of 3 million euros; the duration is between 3 and 10 years, which includes a grace period of 24 months; companies are guaranteed competitive price conditions, also thanks to the possibility of using EIB and CDP funds until they run out. Furthermore, thanks to the establishment of a portfolio guarantee by the Ministry of Economic Development, companies have the possibility of accessing Nova+ FNI Brevetti without any request for specific personal, collateral or insurance guarantees.

All this, on the one hand allows the Bank to understand the industrial benefits deriving from the investments and therefore to fully exploit the development strategies outlined by the entrepreneurs, on the other it allows the latter to deal with specialized technicians able to speak the same language of 'business."
