Quadrennial Foundation of Rome: the new 2022-2024 program

The Board of Directors of La Quadrennial Foundation of Romto , chaired by Umberto Croppi and composed of Lorenzo Micheli Gigotti, Fabio Mongelli, Valentina Tanni presents the three-year period 2022-2024 to consolidate the identity of the Quadriennale as a research institution on visual arts in Italy of the XNUMXth-XNUMXst century and as a promoter of Italian artists in our country and abroad.

The activities of the 2022-2024 construction project have been entrusted to Gian Maria Tosatti, selected through a public tender and appointed artistic director of the Foundation until September 2024. The path of this project aims to make the Quadriennale a place of radiant reflection for research, investigations and insights into Italian art.

Projects and initiatives are envisaged which intend to develop analytical knowledge above all of the artistic generations that emerged in Italy after 2000 and to stimulate a critical debate.

Particular attention has been given to research and documentation activities – through editorial initiatives, study visits, scholarships, inter-university networking – but a substantial public program made up of exhibitions, festivals, appointments – also a continuous collaboration with companies abroad.

The implementation of the 2022-2024 program provides for the involvement, as consultants, of over one twenty curators and art historians selected by the Artistic Director and each active on one or more specific projects.

Central and transversal to programming continues to be theLibrary Archive of the Quadriennale-ArBiQ, Directed by Assunta Porciani.

The Quadriennale presents itself with a visual identity that marks this transition and will accompany it from now on. The new sign is typical of an Institution aware of its important history, of which the Library Archive is a living memory, projected to give even more incisiveness to its role. The renewed visual identity of the Quadriennale, developed by Studio FM Milano, will be expressed in all the projects and in their communication, starting from the institutional website.

In the three-year period 2022-2024 the overall programming budget stands at € 1.500.000,00.

For the next phase of the three-year period, parallel to the launch of the 2025 Art Quadrennial, the Foundation, following intermediate monitoring, will build the partnerships necessary for the continuation of the projects, always on a shared basis.

In this revised formula, the membership program Friends of the Quadrennial it will not only be aimed at collectors and patrons, but at anyone interested in learning more about and closely following contemporary art.
