Saturday 8 June in Bologna an entire afternoon of meetings at the Golinelli factory, all dedicated to the great Leonardo on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death.

An afternoon – Saturday 8 June – full of activities at the Opificio Golinelli in Bologna, to celebrate Leonardo Da Vinci, on the occasion of the 500th anniversary of his death scientist and artist and in memory of the immense contribution he gave to understanding of anatomy and art. The initiative, organized by the Golinelli Foundation, also includes the exhibition "Let's go numbers!" and it is an opportunity for teachers and educators, through a special information point, to learn about the new educational proposals and training courses for the 2019/20 school year. The event is organized within the framework of Bologna Summer. The list of workshops, both for children and adults, is also available online: admission is free, but reservations are required

The program and the workshops:

Little Leonard
Accompanied by animated readings and guided by the little explorer Leonardo, future scientists begin to understand the mysteries of nature through simple experiments.
12-24 months

Between lights and shadows
A creative and fun activity to introduce children to the fascinating world of optics, between colours, lights and theatre.
3 4-years

Silhouettes in the circle
The children reconstruct small anatomical models with colored shapes, creating small and personal Vitruvian men.
5 6-years

Leonardo's non-frescoes
How was painting done in the workshops of the 1400s? Participants immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the artists of the past: from the construction of brushes to the preparation of pigments and binders to create a non-fresco.
7 10-years

Plants under the microscope
Among Leonardo's many interests, there were also botany and the natural sciences: microscopy stations with different plant preparations.

The machines of the Codex Atlanticus
From the analysis of some prints of Leonardo's Codex Atlanticus some ingenious engineering intuitions will be extrapolated, which will be reworked in a modern key with the aid of modern technologies.

Coding with drones
Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci's research on flight, participants program special drones to carry out simulation missions or overcoming obstacles.

The Vitruvian skeleton
In Leonardo's time, in order to be able to paint the human body, the main theme of Renaissance art, an artist had to know its structure. The experience allows to deepen the structure of the human skeleton through the reconstruction of the various parts and to try to reproduce it on paper.

The court of suspended plants
Over 400 years ago, Leonardo Da Vinci became interested in botany, anticipating studies on hydroponic culture, one of the technologies that can be used today in agriculture. Participants can learn how hydroponics works and build a small structure to take home.
