No extension of tax payments scheduled for July 20th. The undersecretary of the Mef ruled it out, Alessio Villarosa during a question time in the House Finance Committee. The government – recalled the undersecretary according to the ANSA reconstruction – postponed the ordinary deadlines of 30 June and 30 July with an increase of 0.4 per cent, to 20 July and 20 August respectively. "The further extension requested, according to the offices, would affect – he explained – the elaboration of the forecasts of the self-liquidated taxes of the Update Note to the DEF which, as known, must be presented to Parliament by the end of September". The undersecretary also expressed his regret for the response provided, explaining that he had personally worked for a further extension of the deadlines. In practice, an extension would lead to a hole in public finances and therefore it is not possible to grant it.
Thus the hypothesis of a further extension of the 2019 balance payments and 2020 advance payments of income taxes in self-liquidation (but also of other things) which were postponed from 30 June to 20 July for 4,5 million mandatory VAT numbers fades away to tax report cards or in the flat-rate and minimum regime. An extension that according to the ministry's estimates would affect a cash flow of 8,4 billion.

In the tax reform that the government is working on "there will be no reintroduction of the Imu first home and no mechanism that leads to an increase in surtaxes", instead affirmed the minister of the economy Roberto Gualtieri. The main objective of the reform is "to reduce the tax burden on labor by combating tax evasion and avoidance".
