Finmeccanica, Moretti in the Senate: "Governance to be changed but the quarterly report will be positive"

“Finmeccanica's governance is particularly antiquated. It is a summation of independent companies which from time to time has had support from the parent company when they needed money”. These are the words of the CEO of Finmeccanica, Mauro Moretti, today in a hearing in the Senate.

“Many isolated things – Moretti also said – that are confronted with people who have everything integrated, like Airbus. Everything duplicated and the squandering of money is really important. A company like this cannot continue to move forward. Thinking of maintaining the governance as it is is beyond history”.

At the moment, however, Finmeccanica, according to Moretti, does not need to turn to the financial markets. "Immediately we do not need to turn to the financial markets - said the CEO -, but in 2017 we will eventually be able to go back". For this reason, the manager added, the judgments of the rating agencies are important because "in some way our reputation is qualified".

Moretti then closed with the quarterly report: “The data for the quarter – he said – seem to give positive signals which make us think of a calm year end”. On the coupon: “Only with profits, I hope in a couple of years”.

Meanwhile, mid-afternoon Finmeccanica recovers ground on the Stock Exchange, following the trend of Piazza Affari which reduces losses: before 15 pm the stock loses 1,1% to 6,845 euro.
