Fincantieri flies over 6% after Carnival agreement

The shipbuilding company Fincantieri shines in Piazza Affari and around 11 it marks an increase of +6,5% to 0,537 euro.

Fincantieri announced Wednesday that it has signed a memorandum of agreement with the American group Carnival, which controls Costa Cruises and Aida, for the construction of two other ships for a total value of 1 billion euros. The American giant, according to press reports, could formalize the contract in the next few days, which could be worth around 1,5 billion dollars (1,4 billion euros).

The news is undoubtedly positive for Fincantieri which would further increase the backlog of around 19 billion as at 30 September 2016. The weight of the order would in fact be around 7%, thus also increasing the visibility of the company which at present is already over 5 years. And the title immediately embarked on the upward path on the Stock Exchange.
