One eye on China and one on the French shipyard Saint Nazaire, now in Korean hands. In presenting the new Costa Cruises flagship, Costa Diadema, built by Fincantieri, the managing director of the Italian shipbuilding group, Giuseppe Bono, did not miss the opportunity to trace the course of the public group. “To feel good – he said – Fincantieri needs 10-15 orders a year”.

Fincantieri will devote growing attention to the promising Chinese market but to do so it is necessary to strengthen. This is why Fincantieri has set its sights on the Saint Nazaire shipyards, today Stx France, currently controlled by the Koreans.

“Fincantieri – explained Bono – must grow. We have important goals. Right now the Koreans are losing and are in difficulty while we are the only shipyard that is growing and earning, little but earning. It's time to move."
