“Fables and fables to educate about the responsible use of money. The financial education of children in a changing economy”: it is the title of the new volume/e-book dedicated to children aged 6 to 10, primary school teachers, educators and families, created by the FEduF – Foundation for Financial Education and Savings and promoted by UBI Banca.
The aim of the book, born from the collaboration of various bodies such as the Department of Economics and Business Sciences and Economic Law of the University of Milan-Bicocca, the FarEconomia association, FEduF and Pandora Cooperativa Sociale onlus, is to accompany the little ones, through the evocative capacity and fantasy typical of fairy tales, in some reflections on the economy and on fundamental values such as sustainability and solidarity.
It is a fun educational tool for learning and sharing, both in the family and at school: it offers stories, accompanied by color illustrations, combined with exercises designed by pedagogues and primary school teachers based on scientific literature and previous experiences. UBI Bank will distribute the new e-book to schools, as an aid in distance learning, to customer families and colleagues, and from next May 28th will always make it available free of charge for everyone also on your site.
"The fairy tales in this volume, through the imagination and moral inspiration they bring, manage to speak to us, on several levels, about our priorities in the present time: social cohesion, sustainability, fair and equitable economic development inclusive of all human beings, respect for the environment” reads the preface of the book, signed by Letizia Moratti, President of UBI Banca. "This volume is a means to enrich and strengthen us as people and as citizens, to be ever more cohesive and participate in a balanced and sustainable territorial development".
UBI's commitment in the field of financial education, which during the 2018-2019 school year involved more than 17.000 students and is managed by UBI Community, a strategic division of the Bank which has the objective of facilitating the creation of partnerships between profit, non-profit and public administration for the creation of shared value, therefore continues and is enriched with new initiatives and new ways of using , to respond to the new context generated by the health emergency.
