Bonfires, discos, fireworks, tent nights on the beach. In general: gatherings. Ferragosto is approaching and the local administrators of half of Italy run for cover to prevent the party from turning into the festival of contagion, lighting new outbreaks of Covid-19.
Obviously, they are above all the ones to worry about young people. Also because in the last few weeks the average age of the infected in our country it has continued to fall: by now it has dropped below the age of 40, with half of the positives in the 20-50 range. Among children under 19, the number of people who have contracted the coronavirus has even multiplied by ten compared to the first months of the pandemic.
Faced with these data, the concern is obvious and the ordinances multiply. One of the most stringent is the one launched by the president of the Region Sicilia, Nello Musumeci, who - in addition to the prohibition of activities for indoor discos, valid at national level at the disposal of the Government - has established that outdoor evenings must include a limited number of people, all with masks covering their noses and mouth.
In Lazio, however, the governor Nicola Zingaretti has announced that he will make tampons mandatory for people returning from countries where the number of people infected with Covid-19 is higher. And he proposes to extend the measure to all of Italy: "We must go back to life - he says - but let's not get distracted and let us not let our guard down".
News also coming in Campania, where the president Vincenzo De Luca has sent the police on ferries and hydrofoils to verify that everyone is wearing a mask.
Right on the front of Checks, in the last few days there have been accelerations throughout Italy. At a central level, on Saturday alone, the investigations ordered by the Ministry of the Interior led to the closure of as many as 100 establishments that did not comply with the rules on distancing and the obligation to wear a mask. This is a very high number, considering that in the entire previous week only 18 businesses had been closed for the same reasons.
If you narrow your gaze to the level of the Municipality, instead we note that many mayors of seaside resorts have decided to lock down the beaches, banning campsites, tents, bonfires and fireworks. This is the case of Modica and Scicli in Sicily and of Chioggia in Veneto, but also of Pescara (Abruzzo), Fondi (Lazio), Melendugno (Puglia) and Civitanova Marche.
The moral is simple: it being understood that the anti-Covid precautions must always be respected (mask indoors or in gatherings, social distancing and hand hygiene), before organizing the August XNUMXth evening it is good to inquire about any ordinances from the Region and the Municipality. To avoid bad surprises.
