Fca, spin-off: before Alfa and Maserati it's up to Magneti Marelli

FCA's spin-off makes the stock market dream but, while the possible spin-off of Alfa Romeo and Maserati will only be discussed at the Investor Day in mid-2018, the corporate separation and listing on the stock exchange should mature in the coming weeks. Magneti Marelli components.

Waiting for that of Alfa Romeo and Maserati, which in the meantime has already put the markets in fibrillation, the truly current and priority spin-off in the FCA house is that of the component house Magneti Marelli. While for the possible Alfa-Maserati hypothesis – possible, because Marchionne himself does not seem to consider it mature – probably nothing will move before next year, for Marelli – which is technically automotive, not cars – it could instead be a matter of a few months , if not weeks: nothing prevents the spin-off from being able to work immediately and that the operation can be completed by the end of 2017.

Marchionne was most likely alluding to this when he explained that “we will have to clean up the stock to create value for shareholders and to make FCA an adequate builder. It must be done before twelve months”. If so, whether Magneti Marelli is actually the next group company to follow CNH and Ferrari on the spin-off road, it will be seen soon. Meanwhile, on the succession of these hypotheses, the FCA stock continues to fly on the stock exchange: in Piazza Affari, again today, after exceeding 12 euro per share in the session of Wednesday 23 August, has come to earn still around 5% in the middle of the day, exceeding 12,5 euros.
