Fca, Altavilla: "By 2018 Italian plants functioning at 100%"

"For 2018, the use of the production capacity of the Italian plants will return to 100%, already today we are at 80%". Talking is Alfredo Altavilla, head of Emea (Europe, Middle East, Africa) of Fiat Chrysler, who dedicated his speech to the theme of reshoring at the meeting of the Industrial Union in Turin, i.e. the return of production to Italy.

“We have recovered the gap we had in the worst moment of the crisis and our investment plan is proceeding as planned. When you want – added Altavilla – you can create a system in this country. Our decision to bring back the production of the Panda from Poland to Italy it was not fully understood then but now it is revealing itself for what it is, a success for the repositioning of the group”.

In FCA's settlement policies in Italy according to Altavilla "we found pleasure in harming ourselves, and we paid a very high price for an unjustly personalized controversy due to our desire to rewrite the rules of the game, even with the unions. Thanks to the work done together with some of them, the relaunch of the factories in Italy is becoming a reality". Finally, the FCA top manager also confirmed that the relaunch of Alfa Romeo will be all made in Italy: «An Alfa Romeo will never come out of a non-Italian factory. And this also applies to engines because Italian engine production is second to none».
