Above all, the growth in confidence in Italy was the driving force behind the improvement, where the index showed an increase of 2,9 points against 1,2 in France and Spain and 0,7 in Germany.

Business expectations are also positive: the Bci index (Business climate indicator) relating to the 17 countries of the currency union grew by 0,14 points in July.
