Eurizon Capital launches Fund specialized in Green Bonds

Eurizon Capital today launched the first fund in Italy specialized in "green bonds", bonds intended to finance projects linked to the environment.

This was announced by the asset management company of the Intesa Sanpaolo group, the first Italian bank to issue a "green" bond in June 2017.

"Eurizon Fund - Absolute Green Bonds", explains a note from the Intesa group, is a sub-fund that selects bonds, mainly investment grade, using the criteria defined by the GBP (Green Bonds Principles) in order to support the growth of investments with environmental Green to combat climate change, manage the consumption of natural resources in a sustainable way, control and reduce pollution, and so on.

“Since March 2017, Eurizon's offering that complies with ESG (environmental, social and governance) criteria has been expanded. We continue to study new commercial proposals characterized by a focus on these types of investments, both on the equity and bond markets, in the belief that the creation of long-term value for our savers passes through the activity of supporting the development of an economic system valid and sustainable” says Massimo Mazzini, Eurizon's Head of Marketing and Commercial Development.
