Explosions in Dortmund, match postponed

Fear in the Champions League. Three explosions occurred in front of the Borussia Dortmund coach on Tuesday as the team headed to the stadium for their quarter-final match against Monaco. The explosive had previously been planted on the road. The match has been postponed to 18.45pm today.

The 26-year-old Borsussia Dortmund defender Marc Bartra was injured in the explosions, hit by glass splinters. The player has cuts on his arm and underwent surgery on his wrist.

"It was a targeted attack on the Borussia Dortmund team - said Gregor Lange, Dortmund police chief at a press conference - The motive is not yet clear and nothing can be ruled out, not even the worst hypotheses".

The bombs that exploded in front of the Borussia bus were hidden in a hedge. But other suspicious objects were found near the team's hotel during the checks. Police said in a statement they were investigating "an attack with explosives that should be taken seriously".
