From Monday 15 September, six new "Sportellomico impresa" centers will open, thanks to which Equitalia provides assistance and technical advice to traders, artisans and SMEs who find themselves in cases of specific difficulty. The service is already active in 18 cities (including Rome, Florence, Turin and Bologna) and will be enhanced starting next week with the addition of the centers of Verbania, Savona, Sassari, Perugia, Frosinone and Campobasso. The "Business friend office" joins the already active service aimed at natural persons called "Friend office" through which taxpayers in difficult situations find assistance in various cases.
Among the main tools that Equitalia provides to taxpayers is the installment of obligations aimed at people or businesses in proven difficulty. Up to debts of 50 thousand euros, an installment request is sufficient, while it is possible to obtain a ten-year loan, extend an already active one or request a subsequent one in particularly problematic cases. Furthermore, Equitalia lends itself to the compensation of tax and commercial credits due to natural persons or companies, providing all the necessary assistance in the case.
Taxpayers owed to Equitalia are holders of various protections against the tax collection agency. First of all, the taxpayer's first home cannot be attached in any way, not even for debts exceeding 120 thousand euros - the threshold from which the attachment for other properties starts. Furthermore, Equitalia cannot mortgage vehicles registered to the debtor if it is demonstrated that these are used to carry out the profession, business activity or are used for welfare purposes. Finally, in the event of confiscation of sums deposited in the debtor's current account, Equitalia will in no way be able to prepare the last salary or pension entering the account.
In conclusion, with a view to simplifying the practices of members of professional associations and orders, and of the taxpayers assisted by them, over 200 agreements were signed throughout the country. In addition, the relationship between the taxpayer and Equitalia will be regulated through dedicated emails, appointments and training seminars with Equitalia officials on site.
