Eni: refinery explodes, no injuries

An explosion has occurred inside the Eni refinery in Sannazzaro de' Burgondi (Pavia), one of the largest in Italy. According to the first news, confirmed by the mayor Roberto Zucca and by the six-legged dog company itself, there are no injuries.

Eni: refinery explodes, no injuries

Around 16pm this afternoon, 1 December, an explosion occurred inside the Eni refinery in Sannazzaro de' Burgondi (Pavia), one of the largest in Italy. According to the first news, confirmed by the mayor Roberto Zucca and by the six-legged dog company itself, there are no injuries.

The company, through a press release, announced that "a fire has developed, which is currently being extinguished thanks to the timely intervention of the Eni emergency teams and the National Fire Brigade. No injuries have been reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation."

The environmental consequences of the event have yet to be assessed. A column of black smoke rose up from the refinery, visible tens of kilometers away. The traffic policemen are roaming the streets of Sannazzaro urging residents not to leave their homes.
