Eni raises estimates in the Nile Delta

The group has revised upwards the potential of the Baltim South West field, in the Nile Delta - The concession is in the middle with British Petroleum.

Eni has revised upwards the potential of the Baltim South West field, in the Nile Delta, which is now estimated to contain over 28 billion cubic meters of gas in place. The revision follows the results of the drilling of the Baltim South West 2X delineation well, performed immediately following the success of the Baltim South West 1X discovery well.

The field, located in 25 meters of water depth, is located in the conventional waters of the Nile Delta 12 kilometers from the coast of Egypt and only 10 kilometers from the Nooros production field, discovered in July 2015.

Eni holds a 50% interest in the Baltim South concession, while BP holds the remaining 50%. The license is operated by Petrobel, an equal joint venture between IEOC and the Egyptian state company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation.
