Energy SpA Acquires Cloud Computing and Launches EnergyInCloud: New Opportunities for Sustainable Energy.

Energy SpA, leader in the field of integrated energy storage systems listed on the Euronext Growth Milan market has officially finalized the purchase of Cloud Computing Srl, a company based in Trento, active since 2016 in the development of software applications for the IoT.

Cutting-edge technologies in the energy sector 

The operation, announced on June 28, 2023, led to the birth of EnergyInCloud Srl, an innovative start-up of which Energy holds 73%, while the remaining 27% is owned by the shareholders of Cloud Computing Srl

EnergyInCloud Srl will become a cutting-edge technological company offering advanced services for the remote control and management of production, storage and energy consumption systems. Thanks to cutting-edge technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence (AI), Blockchain and other new technologies, EnergyInCloud Srl will offer technical assistance and software solutions for energy optimization.

The Board of Directors of EnergyInCloud Srl is made up of three members, two of whom are appointed by designation of Energy SpA and one appointed by designation of Cloud Computing Srl, guaranteeing joint and synergistic management of skills.

A strategic acquisition for Energy

This acquisition will allow Energy to further strengthen its capabilities in the remote control of energy production, storage and consumption systems. With the aim of overseeing the strategic phases of the value chain in an integrated way, EnergyInCloud Srl is preparing to provide services for the Energy Communities and for services to the Electricity Grid, including balancing and dispatching.

Davide Tinazzi, Chief Executive Officer of Energy, enthusiastically commented on the operation: “This acquisition represents a fundamental step in our business journey. Together with the establishment of the joint venture for the production of batteries, Energy becomes the only European operator to verticalise the various production phases of storage systems and their connection to the grid. This allows us to guarantee data security and privacy according to European standards. We believe that the Energy Communities represent a great short-term opportunity, and we want to be leaders, making a concrete contribution to the energy transition towards systems for the production and management of energy from renewable sources."
