Enav: EBITDA boom (+34%), on revenues

Ebitda rises to 29 million compared to 20,9 million in the first quarter of 2015, while revenues grow by 5,3% – The net result is negative by 8,8 million euros, an improvement of over 2 million compared to the negative figure of 10,8 million in the first quarter of last year.

Enav, a joint-stock company that operates as the exclusive supplier of civil air navigation services in the Italian airspace, closed the first quarter of 2016 with growing revenues and EBITDA.

Going into detail, consolidated revenues settled at 177,4 million euros, an increase of 5,3% compared to 168,4 million in the same period last year thanks above all to the increase in revenues both en route and terminal which, in the reference period, rose respectively by 4,8 and 3,7 million

EBITDA grew by 34% to 29 million euro, compared to 20,9 million in the first quarter of 2015

Overall en route traffic in Italy showed an increase in assisted flights to 360.702 equal to +0,3% compared to the first three months of last year and in the number of service units to 1.587.750 (+2,4%) . The growth was driven in particular by the international flights component (+5,1% in terms of number of flights). Overall terminal traffic also did well, with assisted flights reaching 166.912 (+1,4%) and service units (+4,6%).

The company communicates it, adding that the net result is negative by 8,8 million euros, an improvement of over 2 million compared to the negative figure of 10,8 million in the first quarter of last year. "It should be emphasized that the first quarter was affected by a negative effect typical of the seasonality of air traffic, against a linearity of costs", explains ENAV. The consolidated net financial position at 31 March was negative by 159,3 million euros, an improvement of 29,2 million euros compared to 188,5 million euros at 31 December 2015.
