Japanese praise for Chrysler (and Fiat): the way of producing has changed

It's nice that an article on a Japanese news site praises the production techniques of Chrysler, now an official part of the Fiat empire. The rebirth of American society starts from many small adjustments in the way of producing, according to the techniques of the Japanese masters of 'lean manufacturing', adapted to the American reality. The WCM Academy (where WCM stands for World Class Manufacturing) does not have technology and automation as its polar star, but workers, the work environment, motivations. The Chrysler Jefferson North factory is very different from what it was before: it's bright, clean, with restful colors and smiling images. It has become a factory where, the workers say, it is a pleasure to work. And this despite the fact that wages are much lower than they were before the collapse of the old Chrysler.

Sales are fine. And, three years after the crisis, the market share has continued to rise, helped not only by new models but also by an internal revolution in the factory, which has raised quality and 'job satisfaction'.
