Elections, House and Senate: here are the final results

From the final data of the elections and after Renzi's decision to place the Democratic Party in opposition, the only possible majority (at least on paper) is that formed by Di Maio's Five Stars and Salvini's League – Here are the numbers.

Elections, House and Senate: here are the final results

The 5 Star Movement is the leading party, while the centre-right is the coalition with the most seats. For the centre-left, however, it is a historic defeat. After a day of scrutiny, the final data on the general elections of 4 March arrives. And they confirm that, barring cross-party alliances between two of the three factions, there is no possible majority to build a government. After the words of Matteo Renzi, which has chosen to place the Democratic Party in opposition, the least unlikely alliance is that between the Lega and the 5 Star Movement. However, yesterday Matteo Salvini has excluded the possibility of leaving the coalition to which he belongs.

Going back to the electoral results, in the centre-right the surge of the League surprises, overtaking and detaching Forza Italia. In the center-left, on the other hand, no list other than the Democratic Party exceeds the threshold of 3%. Free and Equal enters Parliament, which however obtains a result that is far lower than expected.

Here are the final data, obtained by adding the majority share to the proportional one. We recall that the majority in the Chamber is 316 seats, while 161 are needed in the Senate.

Movement 5 stars: 32,7%, 229 seats in the Chamber, 114 seats in the Senate.

Nci-Udc: 6 seats in the Chamber, 4 seats in the Senate.

CENTER-LEFT: 117 seats in the Chamber, 59 seats in the Senate.

Pd: 18,7%; 108 seats in the Chamber, 53 seats in the Senate.

Others from the centre-left: 9 seats in the Chamber, 6 seats in the Senate.
