Edison, Zuccoli: "The game ends at the end of the month"

The president of Foro Bonaparte confirmed that the supervisory board of A2A will be held on November 29 and that by the end of the month "the match will be asked". Regarding the conflict of interest of the new Minister for Economic Development, Corrado Passera, Zuccoli declared: "I really don't see the problem."

Edison, Zuccoli: "The game ends at the end of the month"

The President of Edison and of A2A's Management Board, Giuliano Zuccoli, said he was confident about the reorganization of his company: “The scenario is positive. Everything is moving according to plan and, at the end of the month, I really think the game will be over". The chairman also assured that on November 29, two days after the expiry of the agreements with EDF, the meetings of A2A and the Delmi holding will be held. The reorganization of Edison will therefore be decided by the end of the month and the contract will be signed by the French of EDF on the one hand and the Italian shareholders gathered in Delmi on the other.

President Zuccoli also expressed his opinion on the possibility conflict of interest of the new Minister for Economic Development, Corrado Passera. As a former CEO of Intesa San Paolo, the conflict could arise because the Milanese bank is the main creditor of the Tassara holding (10% shareholder of Edison). “I have never shared the principle of generalizing the theory of conflict of interest. In this specific case, I really don't see the problem” commented Zuccoli.

But to definitively close the game it is necessary that the Consob express itself on the request for exemption from theOpa on Edison that EDF should be forced to advance. The French believe that it is not necessary since even with the new agreements the effective command does not change radically compared to the past.

EDF today it directly controls a 19,1% stake in Edison and, through the indirect stake in Transalpina d'Energia, owns a further 30,7%.
