Romain Zaleski will join the takeover bid for Edf's Edison. “We will certainly adhere to the takeover bid, money is always good to take”, said the Franco-Polish financier who owns 10% of Edison through Carlo Tassara on the sidelines of the Mittel meeting.
In mid-July, Zaleski appealed to the Lazio Regional Administrative Court against Consob on the price of the Edison tender offer, requesting a suspension of the Edf offer. Yesterday the Lazio Regional Administrative Court postponed the discussion of the appeal: first the Court wants to wait for Consob's ruling on the request presented at the end of May by Zaleski to further increase the price of the offer, equal to 0,89 euro per share, which is expected by 3 August, the closing day of the takeover bid.
The current price has already been increased from the initial 0,84 euro following a lengthy investigation by the supervisory authority. Thus a possible decision by the Tar, if in favor of Zaleski, could only pave the way for compensation, while the adhesion of the financier will determine the success of the Edf-branded operation.
